MUZAFFARNAGAR: UP government has dismissed Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's statement that some Muslim youths in riots-hit Muzaffarnagar were in touch with Pakistan's intelligence, saying that it had "no inputs in this regard". “We have received no input whatsoever in this regard by either the Intelligence Bureau (IB) or the union home ministry" state home secretary Kamal Saxena said. The UP ATS chief Mukul Goel also ruled out any such inputs from intelligence agencies at the Centre. He said the state intelligence units were on their guard against any such nefarious design by any anti-national group.

POLITICS: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today continued his aggressive stance against the BJP in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, saying the BJP govt in the state was far removed from the concerns of the poor and played divisive politics adding that its politics is the politics of air-conditioners and industrialists. Recounting the travails he had to undergo during the campaign for past Lok Sabha polls, Gandhi said that he had come to the backward region in 2008 during a drought and spent nights with people there, getting bitten by 25,000 mosquitoes and drinking village well water. He said he had taken ill, but was happy with it all.
