Oklahoma City finally managed to find a way for drivers to pay their dues. There are over a hundred thousand outstanding cases, as well as drivers with their licenses suspended.
All drivers that had trouble settling their tickets or any other offenses will have an opportunity of paying pennies on the dollar during the following year, or more precisely until March 31.
The program had been approved by the Oklahoma City Council, and it will start July 1. All the citations must be issued in the past two years for the amnesty to apply.
The full price would be $613, and it was reduced to $155, which is even less than what people would have to pay if they paid on time or $177.
The officials are hoping that this will help resolve most of the cases in the past few years, and that will help drivers get their licenses back.
