The wonderful thing about tea is that you can mix calming or anti-inflammatory substances through it. Try, for example, ginger, cinnamon, mint, camomile, sage, liquorice or rosemary.



Garlic contains the substance allicin. This substance has anti-inflammatory properties and kills the bacteria that cause your sore throat. Apart from that, garlic can also help you get rid of a cold. How do you eat it? Finely chop a garlic glove and put it into your broth.



Now, this might come as a surprise but cold smoothies can actually help you during this condition. A smoothie might have the necessary minerals and vitamins that you might not be getting due to this sore throat. You can make a smoothie with a large number of fresh fruits, oatmeal, fresh ginger, a pinch of turmeric, water or plant-based milk, and ice cubes. Just blend them all very well, and you will have a nice smoothie that can help you get better again.

Honey is known for its soothing properties. But that’s not all! This soothing substance also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Luckily, honey tastes great, which makes it a nice addition to your tea or smoothie. You can, of course, also just eat a spoonful of honey just like that. It will work like a miracle and help ease the throat pain.
