‘The Paradise of Food’ by Khalid Jawed
One of the most prominenet Urdu writers of today, Khalid Jawed had written ‘Ne’mat Khana’ in 2014. Translated to English by Baran Farooqi and published as ‘The Paradise of Food’, the book won the JCB Prize 2022. Spanning over 50 years, it follows the story of Hafizuddin Mohammad Babar, as he transitions from boyhood to old age and struggles to find a place for himself– at home and in the world.
