Ralph Ellison
Born on March 1, 1914, Ralph Ellison was an American novelist, scholar, and critic. He was best-known for his 1952 novel ‘Invisible Man’, for which he was awarded the National Book Award– Fiction in 1952 which made him the first African-American author to win this award.
