Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps keep the nervous system healthy. That said, severe Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to “permanent neurologic damage,” notes a BMJ study.
According to the health body, “earlier manifestations are generally subtle or asymptomatic”.
However, “if neurological problems do develop, they may be irreversible,” warns the health body.
The UK’s National Health Services (NHS) lists down certain symptoms associated with vitamin B12 deficiency.
– A pale yellow tinge to your skin.
– A sore and red tongue (glossitis)
– A mouth ulcers
– Changes in the way that you walk and move around.
– Disturbed vision.
– Irritability and depression
