The sophomore from Oklahoma State, Isaac Likekele, will play the guard in the upcoming FIBA championship in the U19 category. Likekele is one of the six high school seniors that will compete in the tournament, starting this June in Greece.
The United States team will start the tournament against New Zealand, and the game will be followed by matches against Lithuania and Senegal in Group A. There are a total of sixteen teams that will compete in the World Cup. Likekele managed to join the team, being one of the thirty-one players considered for the U19 team.
The second notable player to join U19 team is Cade Cunningham from Florida’s Montverde Academy. Also, there is a prediction that Cunningham will join OSU. And if he decides to do it, he will be the second-highest rated player to join Oklahoma University. The first one is Gerald Green, who opted to go straight to the NBA in 2005.
All in all, it remains to be seen how Cunningham and Likekele will do in the upcoming World Cup. The first match the USA team plays will be on June 27.
